"Oh ye of little faith!"
I've mentioned in previous entries how important my sketchbooks are to story and character development. (They're also the last place that I do any non-digital art anymore.) When I get little bits of scenarios in my imagination, I draw out quick sketches to capture the main point of the idea.
As I was working on the entire series outline, it made sense to me that a few mundane assignments could be opportunities to explore the characters personalities' and relationships. In this little sketch, Marco and Hugo are repairing a town clock, which Hugo is convinced is beyond repair... and he should know, being a descendant of the Wandschneider lineage that began as master clockmakers.
